Who can make use of Meals on Wheels? Meals on Wheels is part of Home Community Care (HACC) services, and offered to people in the Rosewood area. It is a home service for those who are frail, aged or younger disabled and their carers. The purpose of this service is to supply nourishing meals to people in the comfort of their own home. How do I know if I am entitled to this service? A referral is needed from your doctor or a hospital. Every meal delivered consists of soup, a main course, sweets and juice. All meals are prepared on the Cabanda premises, and are delivered to your home by volunteers. What is the cost of this service? All meals cost $6.00 and deliveries take place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Money is collected on Fridays. There is also the option to receive frozen meals for the other days of the week. Meals are delivered in a safe and hygienic way. Hot meals are delivered very hot and cold and frozen ones are carried in individual cool bags. All meals are delivered in disposable containers. Frozen meals can be heated in the container in the oven or microwave. |
